The aspects
An aspect is the angle between two planets, and it decides whether they cooperate, argue, or merge. These five are the major aspects — the ones the charts on this site actually look for.
The orb is how far from exact an angle still counts. Ours are listed on each page, because astrologers differ and a chart drawn with wider orbs isn't wrong, only set differently.
☌︎Conjunction
0° · orb 8°Two planets in the same place, working as one thing.
⚹︎Sextile
60° · orb 5°Sixty degrees — an opportunity that has to be taken up to do anything.
□︎Square
90° · orb 7°Ninety degrees — two planets that both want the wheel.
△︎Trine
120° · orb 7°A hundred and twenty degrees — same element, no resistance, no pressure to use it.
☍︎Opposition
180° · orb 8°Directly across the wheel — visible, and usually someone else's fault at first.
