Taurus is the sign of things that hold: bodies, ground, money, habit, the pleasure of a thing that is simply good. A planet here slows to the pace of something growing rather than something happening, and gets very hard to move once it has settled.
Venus rules it, but this is Venus as the senses rather than as romance: texture, food, comfort, the specific weight of enough. The failure mode is the same as the strength read at a different angle: what will not be rushed also will not be redirected, and Taurus can defend a position long after the reason for it has gone.
