Upright
Upright at midnight, face in paws, fans like shadows on the wall. The 3 a.m. mind at work: vivid, persuasive, mostly wrong. Daylight will disagree; wait for it.
Reversed
The night thins. Naming the fear shrinks it, help arrives, sleep returns. The shadows were fans all along: folded, they're small.
Nine of Fans, painted three times
All three decks run the same seventy-eight cards, so this one has two siblings: the same card, painted for a different world.
Yōkai TarotNine of UmbrellasBolt upright at midnight, one eye wide, umbrellas hanging like accusations on the wall. The 3 a.m. mind: vivid, persuasive, mostly wrong. Daylight will file a correction.See this one →
Fill the Void TarotNine of ClawsBolt upright at three in the morning beside a sleeping human, staring wide-eyed at absolutely nothing in the dark corner, fur bristling. The fear is enormous and the corner is empty. Wake someone or wait for light.See this one →
